Maxwell Cornelius Uy is a distinguished law enforcement professional and public official currently serving as the Sheriff of Montgomery County, Maryland. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, his career is marked by a steady progression through the ranks, culminating in his current leadership position. Prior to his election as Sheriff, Uy held the key role of Chief Deputy, where he gained invaluable experience in the operational and administrative functions of the department. In 2022, he launched a successful campaign for Montgomery County Sheriff. He secured the Democratic nomination after winning the primary election in July 2022. Facing no opposition in the general election on November 8, 2022, he was elected to the office and subsequently began his term, continuing his commitment to public safety and service for the residents of Montgomery County.
