May Hays has been a resident of West Richland for over 20 years and involved in community leadership for 30 years. She served with the West Richland Chamber of Commerce for 25 years and started the nonprofit Operation We Care, which assists seniors and veterans. Hays was elected to the West Richland City Council in 2021. She attended Columbia Basin College and has owned two local businesses. Her community involvement includes organizing events like the Veterans Day parade and Hogs and Dogs.
