Megan K. Murphy

Megan K. Murphy was appointed to the Court of Appeals, Division III in January 2025. She was born and raised in Yakima, Washington. Murphy earned a bachelor's degree from Claremont McKenna College and a law degree from the University of Colorado School of Law. Her legal career began at the Yakima County Prosecutor's Office. After five years, she entered private practice, focusing on medical malpractice defense, criminal defense, and other civil matters. Prior to her appointment, she worked in private law practice and served as a deputy prosecuting attorney in Yakima County. She has been a member of the Washington State Bar since 2001.
