Megan L. Srinivas is an Iowa State Representative for District 30, elected in 2022 as the youngest woman of color in the Iowa Legislature. An infectious disease physician and health policy researcher, she is dedicated to enhancing healthcare access, especially in rural and underserved areas. Raised in small-town Iowa by Indian immigrant parents, her commitment to her home state motivated her to run for office to improve its "broken health care system." Her public health work includes leading an NIH-funded study on family planning and co-leading a WHO project on reproductive health. She also chaired Iowa’s Biden-Harris COVID Response Council and holds key legislative roles.
