Megan Murphy

Megan K. Murphy was appointed to the Court of Appeals, Division III in January 2025. She was born and raised in Yakima, Washington. Murphy earned her bachelor's degree from Claremont McKenna College and a law degree from the University of Colorado School of Law. Her legal career of nearly 24 years began at the Yakima County Prosecutor's Office. After five years, she entered private practice, focusing primarily on medical malpractice defense, but also handling criminal defense, professional licensing, and other areas. She has served as President of the Yakima County Bar Association and is an originating member of the Yakima Chapter of Washington Women Lawyers.
