Megan O'Rourke is a scientist, former farmer, and labor leader from Blairstown, New Jersey. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Ecology from Cornell University. O'Rourke previously worked as a lead climate scientist at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), where she was also a union steward for the American Federation of Government Employees. She resigned from the USDA in the summer of 2025, citing the Trump administration's policies on climate science.
