My Commitment to Rockford

I’m running for the Rockford Public Schools Board of Education because I believe school board members are elected to serve the community. Every decision should begin and end with what’s best for students while remaining accountable to the families, staff, and taxpayers we represent.

As a parent, healthcare professional, local small business owner, and active member of the Rockford community, I’ve experienced our schools from many perspectives. Those experiences have reinforced my belief that good leadership requires preparation, transparency, accountability, and a genuine willingness to listen.

I believe the role of a school board member extends beyond attending meetings and casting votes. Board members are entrusted with providing thoughtful oversight on behalf of the community. That means preparing before meetings, carefully reviewing information, considering multiple perspectives, asking questions that bring clarity and improve decision-making, and making independent judgments based on evidence rather than assumptions.

If elected, I will:

• Put students at the center of every decision.

• Support teachers and staff as they work to help every student succeed.

• Promote transparency and meaningful community engagement before major decisions are made.

• Be a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars by carefully evaluating priorities and ensuring resources are used wisely.

• Approach every issue with preparation, integrity, and independent judgment, always remaining open to new information and different perspectives.

I believe trust is earned through consistency, honesty, and accountability. My commitment is to come prepared, listen respectfully, evaluate every issue on its merits, and make decisions that reflect both the needs of our students and the values of our community.

I won’t promise that every decision will be easy. I can promise that every decision will receive my full effort, careful consideration, and an unwavering commitment to serving the Rockford community with integrity.
