Melissa Pickett was sworn into office on the Blowing Rock Town Council in December 2021. She retired from Perry Wealth Management as a Financial Advisor in 2013 and currently works as a freelance copywriter. She is a member of the Blowing Rock Rotary Club, the Blowing Rock Historical Society Board of Directors, and the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce. She is a former member of the Board of Adjustments and the Planning Board for Blowing Rock. She is married to Ray Pickett, who serves in the North Carolina House of Representatives.
