Micah Sanderson is the incumbent judge for District 39, Seat 01, having been elected in 2022 when the district was designated 27B. He lives in Denver, North Carolina, with his wife and two children. Sanderson earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Campbell University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina School of Law, passing the bar in 2003. His legal career includes working for a private law firm, opening his own practice in 2006, and serving as a prosecutor in the District Attorney's office for Cleveland and Lincoln Counties starting in 2010. He has also been involved in his community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Lincoln County Chapter of the Red Cross, including time as its chairman.
