Michael D. Brandstetter has served on the Lakewood City Council since January 2010. He and his wife have lived in Lakewood since 1993. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1999 and then joined Bates Technical College, where he served in several roles including Dean of Academic Instruction and Adult Basic Education and Dean of Engineering, Computer Science and Advanced Technologies. He represents the city on the South Sound Housing Affordability Partners Executive Board and the Pierce County Unified Approach to Homelessness Governing Committee.
