Michael D Kester

Michael D. Kester grew up in the Spokane area. After high school, he joined the United States Coast Guard, serving on a port firefighting boat doing search and rescue in Portland, Oregon. He later attended the University of Montana, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Resource Management. Kester then worked for the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. Subsequently, he worked for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 22 years as a conductor, retiring in 2010 after a workplace injury. He and his wife are active in the community, including making meals for World War II Veterans and helping at the YMCA.
