Michael E. Horne

Michael E. Horne is the current Register of Deeds for Davidson County. He has a background in law enforcement, having worked with the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles License and Theft Bureau. During his 30-year career in law enforcement, he served as a general instructor, advanced interview and interrogation instructor, and background investigator. He also taught at Davidson-Davie Community College and the North Carolina Justice Academy. Prior to his time with the state, he was one of the first K-9 officers in Davidson County and also served as a D.A.R.E. officer. He was first elected as Register of Deeds in 2018.
