Michael Feinstein is a co-founder of the Green Party of California and a former two-term member of the Santa Monica City Council (1996-2004), where he also served as Mayor (2000-2002). Born in Athens, Greece, he was adopted by American parents. He graduated from Carleton College in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. Feinstein has a long history of political activism, beginning in 1988. He has held numerous positions within the Green Party at local, state, and national levels, including co-chair of the Green Party of the United States. He previously ran for Secretary of State in 2018. He has also served on various governmental committees, including for the Southern California Association of Governments.
