Michael F. Rivers Sr. is an incumbent Democratic member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 121 since November 2016. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1958, he earned a B.S. from Claflin University. Prior to his legislative tenure, he served on the Beaufort County School Board from 1998 to 2016. Rivers is running for re-election in the 2026 primary, advocating for jobs, healthcare, public safety, and the coastal environment. He is also the Chaplain for the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus and has served on key committees, including Education and Public Works.
