Michael Garcia is an incumbent judge for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in California, a position he has held since 2012. His current term is set to end on January 4, 2027. Prior to his appointment as a judge, he served as a Court Commissioner for the Los Angeles County Superior Court from 2007 to 2011. His earlier career includes working as a supervising trial deputy in the Office of the Federal Public Defender from 1989 to 2007 and as an associate attorney at the Law Offices of Capiro and Freixes in 1989. Judge Garcia earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School and his undergraduate degree from Occidental College. He was re-elected in 2020 by default after being the only candidate to file for the position.
