Michael J. Lance is the incumbent State Representative for Maine's House District 79, encompassing Paris, Sumner, West Paris, and Woodstock. A Republican, he began his first term in December 2024 and seeks re-election in the 2026 Maine Primary. Beyond his legislative role, he is a tool technician and a volunteer firefighter for Paris Fire. He previously taught science and coached for 35 years, earning Class C Assistant Coach of the Year in 2017. Lance holds degrees from Plymouth State College and the University of Southern Maine. An active community member, he belongs to the Oxford Lodge and Saint Catherine of Sienna. He is married with three children and enjoys outdoor pursuits. He has also joined legislative Republicans in urging the revocation of Gulf of Maine offshore wind leases.
