He was employed by various national investment banking firms, including Goldman, Sachs & Co., between 1982 and 2001, working primarily in public power finance. Since 2001, he has been a Managing Director at Public Financial Management, Inc. (PFM), where he manages the national financial advisory practice for governmental utilities across the United States.
