Born and raised in Millbury, Michael O. Moore (D-Millbury) is a lifelong public servant who has represented the Second Worcester District in the Massachusetts Senate since January 2009. A graduate of the Waltham Police Academy, he served 22 years in law enforcement — as an Environmental Police officer and later as an investigator in the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office — and holds a master's degree in criminal justice from Western New England University. He previously served on the Millbury Board of Selectmen (2001–2009) and as Assistant Deputy Superintendent of the Worcester County Sheriff's Office. In the Senate he has led on public safety, education, environmental protection, women's health, economic development, and local infrastructure.
