Michael Rose is a lifelong resident of Johnston County and a graduate of Princeton High School (1986). He earned a bachelor's degree in business education from East Carolina University in 1991. Rose is a former public school teacher and has owned the small business QuickShirts since 1995. He served on the Princeton Town Council for 11 years, including as Mayor Pro Tempore, before being appointed to the Johnston County Board of Commissioners in November 2024 to fill an unexpired term for District 3. He and his wife, Lori, have two sons and three grandsons. They are active members of the Princeton Church of God.
