Michael Lee is the incumbent State Senator for North Carolina's 7th district, a role he has held since 2023. He previously served in the State Senate from 2014 to 2019 and from 2021 to 2023. Lee is also a commercial real estate and land use attorney and founded the law firm Lee | Kaess, PLLC in 2012. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. He is married with four children and resides in Wilmington, NC.
