Michelle Caldier is a fourth-generation Kitsap County resident who has served as a member of the Washington House of Representatives since 2015. She earned an Associate of Sciences from Olympic College, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington, and a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Prior to her legislative career, she owned a dental practice serving nursing home residents and was an affiliate professor at the UW School of Dentistry. As a former foster child and a foster parent herself, she has been a strong advocate for children in the foster care system. Her political involvement was inspired by her successful efforts to lobby the Legislature to restore funding for adult dental care for Medicaid recipients.
