Mike Amyx is the incumbent Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives for the 45th district, serving since 2019. He previously held six terms as Mayor of Lawrence and served a four-year term as a Douglas County Commissioner. Amyx advocates for adequate school funding, expanding post-secondary and technical education, and empowering local communities against unfunded state and federal mandates. He also champions reasonable cost high-speed internet access for all Kansans. He is currently running for reelection to the Kansas House of Representatives.
