Mike Katz is a cybersecurity engineer and privacy researcher with over three decades of experience in Silicon Valley. A graduate of UC Berkeley in Environmental Science, he currently serves as Director of Research for the Center for Human Rights and Privacy (CeHRP) and Oakland Privacy, focusing on mass surveillance issues. Katz previously served two terms on the San Leandro School Board. He is running as a Democrat to represent California's 17th Congressional District in the U.S. House.
