Mike Newhouse is an attorney specializing in real estate, land use, and environmental law. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California in 1996 and a law degree from Lewis & Clark College in 2000. A resident of Venice for over 25 years with his wife and two sons, he has a long history of community involvement. He is a former two-term president of the Venice Neighborhood Council and co-founder of the Westside Regional Alliance of Councils. He was appointed to the West Los Angeles Area Planning Commission by Mayor Eric Garcetti, where he served as President, and was later appointed to the Citywide Planning Commission by Mayor Karen Bass. He previously ran for Los Angeles City Council in 2022.
