Mike Schultz

Mike Schultz is a Republican lawmaker who has served in the Utah House of Representatives, representing District 12, since January 2015. He rose through the ranks to become state House majority leader from 2021 to 2023, and was unanimously elected Speaker of the House in November 2023. During his tenure, Schultz has championed policies focused on increasing student funding, conserving Utah's water supply, and investing in transportation infrastructure, while also advocating for balanced budgets and tax cuts. He is a vocal proponent of the legislature's authority in drawing political boundaries, criticizing judicial intervention in redistricting efforts. He was re-elected in 2024.
