Mike Simpson, 75, is an Idaho native born in Burley and raised in Blackfoot. After earning his dental degree, he joined his family dental practice before beginning his political career. He served on the Blackfoot City Council and in the Idaho House of Representatives, where he was Speaker for six years. First elected to the U.S. House in 1998, he is now serving his fourteenth term representing Idaho's 2nd District. A Republican, Simpson advocates for securing borders, balancing the budget, supporting veterans, protecting the 2nd Amendment, and is pro-life. He serves as Chairman of the House Interior and Environment Subcommittee on Appropriations and on other key subcommittees, focusing on Idaho's priorities, and is running for re-election in 2026.
