Miriam Paris is a lifelong Democrat and a fourth-generation native of Macon-Bibb County, Georgia. She is an incumbent State Representative for District 142, having served in the Georgia House since 2017. Prior to this, she served on the Macon City Council, including a term as President, and as a Georgia State Senator from 2011 to 2013. A veteran realtor for over 25 years, Paris emphasizes her motto, "Stronger families create stronger communities," and prioritizes quality public education. She is a member of key House committees including Appropriations, Education, Tourism and Economic Development, Special Rules, and Urban Affairs.
