Mitchell Smith Setzer, born March 12, 1965, is a long-serving member of the North Carolina General Assembly, representing District 89. He first assumed office in 1999. Outside of his legislative duties, he is the executive vice president of his family's pipe company, Smith Setzer and Son. Setzer is a lifelong resident of Catawba, North Carolina. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and also attended Lees-McRae College.
