ME
Mohamed Egal was elected to the SeaTac City Council in 2021 and was appointed Mayor on January 9, 2024. Born in Somalia, he has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Agriculture from Somali National University and a Senior Leadership Certificate from Washington LeadingAge Institute. He has over 15 years of experience in social and human services, having worked as a program manager and social worker supporting seniors and vulnerable communities. He has served as Chair of the Planning and Economic Development Committee and is a member of several boards, including the Sea-Tukwila Rotary Club and the King County Sheriff's Advisory Board.
