Molly Donahue is an incumbent Democratic State Senator for Iowa's 37th District, seeking re-election in the 2026 primary. First elected to the Senate in 2022 after two terms in the Iowa House, she assumed office in 2023. A lifelong resident of the Cedar Rapids Metro area, Donahue was born and raised there, now residing in Marion. She is an educator with over 34 years of experience in the Cedar Rapids Community School District, working with at-risk youth. Donahue serves as an Assistant Democratic Leader and on key committees including Appropriations, Education, and Health and Human Services, where she is a Ranking Member. She is committed to advocating for her constituents, bringing values of integrity, hard work, and compassion to her legislative work.
