Dr. Monica Sánchez is an educator and a member of the Pico Rivera City Council. The daughter of a Mexican immigrant farmworker, she was named a 2022 Los Angeles County Woman of the Year by the Board of Supervisors. Before her election to the City Council in 2019, she served as a Planning Commissioner and on the city's Parks and Recreation Commission. She works as an educator for the Los Angeles County Office of Education. Dr. Sánchez holds a Doctorate and a Master's degree in Education from UCLA, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UC Berkeley. She is also an alumna of Rio Hondo College. She lives in Pico Rivera with her two sons.
