Morgan Murphy is a Republican from Alabama and a U.S. Navy Reserve captain, who sought to represent the state in the 2026 U.S. Senate primary. Born in Birmingham, he is an author educated at Birmingham-Southern College, Oxford, and the Naval War College. He served as national security advisor to Senator Tommy Tuberville, reportedly advising on a controversial military nominations strategy related to abortion policy. His campaign highlighted "Alabama values" and "America First" priorities. Murphy unofficially withdrew in early March, endorsing Barry Moore, but remains on the ballot.
