Mpiima Mugambe moved to the United States from Uganda as an asylum seeker in 2012 and has lived in Lynnwood for seven years. He studied social work at the University of Washington and currently works as a Clinical Supervisor for the Downtown Emergency Service Center, often working with first responders on mental health crises. He is the founder of Immigrant Guide, a nonprofit that assists new immigrants, and is an instructor at the UW School of Social Work.
