Nancy Backus

Nancy Backus is the current and first female Mayor of Auburn, serving since 2014 and running for her fourth term. Before becoming mayor, she served for 10 years on the city council, chairing the Finance Committee. Prior to her career in public service, she worked in finance leadership at The Boeing Company from 1989 to 2014, managing large and complex budgets. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from City University and is a graduate of the Leadership Institute of South Puget Sound.
