Nancy Simpson is a professional Urban and Regional Planner and Certified Floodplain Manager running for the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 74. She began her planning career in Minot, North Dakota, where she gained significant experience in floodplain management. She later relocated to Florida and served as a planner for Pasco County. Nancy Simpson has a recorded position on two issues. Each is Civoren's summary of the campaign's own public material, with the source linked.
Simpson opposes Florida's developer-friendly laws and the heavy influence of development interests on local land-use decisions, arguing growth has made it too expensive to live where people work.
“It's becoming too expensive to live where we work and that's not OK. ... Developers are stuffing the pockets of county and city councils to rubber-stamp whatever projects they want.”
