Nathaniel J. Poovey is the Senior Resident Superior Court Judge in Catawba County. He earned a B.A. from The Citadel in 1993 and a J.D. from Campbell University in 1996. Before his judicial career, he practiced law at the firm Sigmon, Sigmon, Isenhower & Poovey in Newton, North Carolina. He was first elected to the Superior Court in 2002 and won re-election in 2018 for a term ending on December 31, 2026.
