Nigel Herbig has served on the Kenmore City Council since January 2014 and was elected Mayor in January 2022. He previously served as Deputy Mayor. He grew up in Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Political Science and Comparative Religion. His professional background includes work in broadcasting, fundraising, and politics, and he currently works at the King County Regional Homelessness Authority.
