Nikema Williams is an incumbent U.S. Representative for Georgia's 5th Congressional District, first elected in 2020 following the death of John Lewis. She is running for re-election in 2026 and is considered the overwhelming favorite in her primary race. Williams previously served in the Georgia State Senate and as chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia. Her policy priorities include protecting reproductive rights, advocating for free and fair elections, stopping corporate control of housing, and establishing a strong federal care infrastructure with paid family and medical leave. She earned a Bachelor's in Biology from Talladega College.
