Olivia Gilligan-Corsetti is not currently running for office on Civoren.
Somerville native and fourth-generation resident who earned a mechanical engineering degree from UMass Amherst. She has worked as a server and assistant plumber, was a field organizer for Governor Maura Healey's campaign and a senior constituent services aide in the Governor's office, and previously worked in the State House office of former Rep. Denise Provost. She managed former Somerville Mayor Katjana Ballantyne's last re-election campaign and is currently a K-8 substitute teacher in Somerville. She is running in part because her father died of a cancer his doctors linked to pesticide exposure.
Olivia Gilligan-Corsetti has a recorded position on six issues. Each is Civoren's summary of the campaign's own public material, with the source linked.
Supports expanding affordable housing access so service workers, teachers, caregivers and longtime Somerville residents can stay: Community Preservation Act funding for affordable housing acquisition, expanded rental assistance, higher transfer taxes on properties resold within 1-2 years to discourage flipping, and deed restrictions for long-term attainability.
“Somerville has become unaffordable for too many of us. Service workers, caregivers, and longtime residents are being priced out of the neighborhoods they've spent their lives in. I'll fight for housing policy that lets the people who built this community stay in it.”
