Patrick Halpin is a former Suffolk County Executive and New York State Assemblyman. At age 34, he became the youngest person to serve as Suffolk County Executive, holding office from 1988 to 1991. Before that, he served in the Suffolk County Legislature and the State Assembly. He later served on the Suffolk County Water Authority Board for 17 years, including as chairman from 2018 to 2023. Halpin is currently a Democratic candidate for New York's 2nd Congressional District in 2026.
