Patrick Nolan

Patrick Nolan was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, where his mother was a public school teacher and his father worked in the auto industry. He earned a degree in History from the University of Detroit Mercy. For the past decade, he has resided in Las Cruces. Nolan has an extensive background in community organizing, including six years with the American Federation of Teachers New Mexico, where he advocated for strong public schools. In April 2023, he was appointed to the Las Cruces Public Schools Board of Education to represent District 1, filling a vacancy. He currently serves as the board's Vice President. Since 2018, he has been the executive director of the nonprofit Friends of Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks. He is married to Las Cruces City Councilor Johana Bencomo.
