Paul Tonko is the U.S. Representative for New York's 20th Congressional District, serving since 2009. Born and raised in Amsterdam, New York, he earned a degree in mechanical and industrial engineering from Clarkson University. Prior to his election to Congress, Tonko served as the President and CEO of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and spent 25 years in the New York State Assembly. He serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee focusing on clean energy.
