She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in education from the University of South Carolina, Columbia. A Republican, Calhoon has served as an incumbent member of the South Carolina House of Representatives for District 87 since November 12, 2018, succeeding Todd Atwater. Her current term concludes on November 9, 2026. She is assigned to the House Ethics Committee and the House Judiciary Committee. Calhoon is seeking re-election for District 87 in the 2026 South Carolina Primary Election, having advanced unchallenged from the Republican primary to face Reid Beaman in the general election.
