Pete Reyes was appointed to the Board of Park Commissioners in March 2025 to fill the seat vacated by Rosie Ayala. He is a licensed practical nurse supervisor at a youth mental healthcare facility. Reyes has served on the Parks Tacoma Active Living and Community Wellness Advisory Council, is a tree steward for the Tacoma Tree Foundation, and an advisory member for the Hilltop Action Coalition. His career in nursing was inspired by caring for his grandmother.
