As governor he helped pass a comprehensive law-enforcement bill, and in the Senate he has voted to give law enforcement more resources to combat fentanyl and co-sponsored harsher penalties for those who target officers.

Ricketts supports cutting taxes. He touts having championed what his campaign calls the largest state tax cut in Nebraska history as governor, and in the Senate helping pass federal tax cuts - including no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, an expanded child tax credit, and ending federal taxes on Social Security benefits for 88% of seniors.
