Peter Oberacker is a Republican New York State Senator representing the 51st district since 2021. Born in Merrick, NY, he graduated from SUNY Delhi and worked as a research chef and food scientist before helping launch the food ingredient firm FormTech Solutions. Prior to his election to the State Senate, Oberacker served as an Otsego County legislator and Maryland town supervisor. In October 2025, he announced his candidacy for New York's 19th Congressional District.
