Quamekia Shavers is a native of Winston-Salem and a graduate of Winston-Salem State University. She is the founder of the Pink Vote, a local initiative to register voters. Shavers has also served as the president of the Young Democrats of Forsyth County and has worked as a campaign manager for several candidates. In 2025, she was accepted into The Campaign School at Yale University, a non-partisan training program for future leaders.
