Rachel Ruelas was elected Mayor of Mabton in November 2021 as a write-in candidate. A native of Texas, she moved to Mabton at a young age and is a graduate of the Mabton School District. Prior to her election, she was involved in the community by organizing events such as the Miss Mabton Pageant and community days. She has six children and has been married for 27 years.
