Randell "Randy" Thompson is a North Carolina native and a resident of Sunset Beach. He has served on the Board of Commissioners for several years, including as Chairman from 2021 to 2024 and Vice Chairman from 2016 to 2020. After a career of over 30 years in local government, he founded Thompson Disaster Recovery Associates, Inc., a consulting firm. Thompson holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration from Shaw University. He is a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, North Carolina's highest civilian honor.
