Randy Fandal

Randy Fandal is a fourth-generation Slidell native and a graduate of Slidell High School (Class of 1978) and the LSU Law Enforcement Institute. He has a 45-year career in law enforcement, beginning in 1980 with the Slidell Police Department. In 1990, he joined the Louisiana State Police, where he served for 23 years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant and leading the statewide Criminal Interdiction Program. After a brief retirement in 2011, during which he hiked the Appalachian Trail to raise funds for charity, he returned to law enforcement and was elected Slidell Chief of Police in 2016. He has been married to his wife, Dania, for 29 years, and they have three adult children and two grandchildren.
